Washington continues to slid down the standings. They are now in 10th place, 2 points behind 8th placed Toronto after going 3-6-1 in their last 10. In their last 7 OTR they are 2-4-1 having scored 2 or fewer goals 5/7 times while giving up 3 or more 4/7 times.
Vokoun gets the start tonight. He has played well recently although he was pulled after allowing 2 goals on seven shots in 5:09 minutes vs Carolina in his last start.
Alex Ovechkin is listed as a game-time decision after missing practice on Tuesday with an undisclosed injury (he left the Carolina game in the 2nd but played part of the 3rd).

So, Ottawa is on an upswing while Washington continues to struggle this year.
