Who Will Win the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League?
12-06-2024
Similar to the post we did last year, I will look at the teams in the Champions League and see who is most capable of lifting the most prestigious club trophy in the world. I think looking at the Champions League that just finished with Real Madrid as champions is a good basis for who will be there and who will regress.
Manchester City
Every single year Manchester City is one of the favourites for the Champions League and for good reason, they have some of the best players in the world and a squad to match as well as the best manager in the world. The best way I can describe Manchester City is like picking a casino from Fruity Slots`
list of reputable slot sites in the UK because they are a safe choice that no one will disagree with, they are always in the latter stages and this year won`t be different.
Players To Watch
Looking at
Man City’s squad there are a few players to look at when you think of who can drive them to this trophy. The obvious options are Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyen who are both world-class players and difference-makers, However, this year Phil Foden finally came into his own with stellar performances when Haaland and De Bruyne couldn`t play.
Arsenal
Arsenal has never won the Champions League and I think that this season they need to win a trophy this season before questions get asked of Arteta. They have come very close in the league twice only to be beaten by the aforementioned Man City. However, their lack of goal-scoring threat, unfamiliarity with the latter positions, tight fights and grit in these moments make people believe less and less when Arsenal are close to historic moments.
Players To Watch
Arsenal’s average age in their squad is the youngest on this list and that is attributed to their manager Mikel Arteta and the talent their players possess, if Arsenal don`t win it this year, just know they will eventually. In my opinion, their two biggest and most important players are William Saliba and Martin Odegaard. Arsenal is not the squad they are with either of these two players missing and if this happens during the campaign they should raise the white flag.
Real Madrid
The
current world champions, Real Madrid are a team that constantly wins the Champions League, they had one of the best squads in the world and still won the trophy beating the arguably best team in the world, Manchester City. Their squad was already strong and they have added the best player in the world to the squad on a free transfer, This means Real Madrid`s attacking options next season consist of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, who is genuinely terrifying, This is added to a very good squad and a manager who knows how to win in the big moments.
Players To Watch
When picking a player to watch in this star-studded team you could say any name and there wouldn`t be many complaints from. I think every football fan collectively agrees the three to watch next year are Vini Jr, Mbappe and Bellingham. People want to know who will play where and if it will work as a team and not just as a collection of players. I think that it will work and will be a scary sight for football fans around the world and hopefully, my team don`t have the displeasure of playing them.
Unlikely But Likely
Unlikely but likely to me means that the team arent the odds on favourites and probably won`t win it, but if they did, people would be partially shocked. The team that best fits this description is Bayern Munich, they have a talented squad and have one of the best strikers in the world - Harry Kane, but they are using an inexperienced manager and are in a transformational phase.
Another team that fits this is Barcelona, they have a good squad and have a manager who could push them to be challengers as he has that experience with Bayern Munich funnily enough, their squad isn`t as strong as others here and although not impossible, they won`t win it.
