Lietkabelis took a 67-66 win in Kaunas two days ago against the odds and the best-of-five series is now led by Zalgiris 2-1. The fourth game will be played in Panevezys and Lietkabelis will do everything to tie the series. The same appeals to Zalgiris.
I expect a close game again. Lietkabelis have not been much worse in the series in spite that Zalgiris have been dealing well with Lietkabelis' main weapon - long shots. However, good spacing and patience in offence, mixed with good pre-game analysis in defence, makes Zalgiris sweat in the series. On top of that, the team atmosphere in the Kaunas camp is barely a it's best with head coach Maksvytis having conflicts with some players. One more disadvantage for the Green-White boys is that they are looking really exhausted at this part of the season, both physically and mentally.
Over the course of the year Lietkabelis head coach Canak has proven how difficult his strategies may look to Zalgiris' head Maksvytis. Lietkabelis will go and play with confidence, good spirits, and they will have a supportive crowd behind their backs. They will also have more confidence after pulling out a dramatic win in Kaunas. Zalgiris are the dads in this series but they haven't been at their best lately, so my bet is on the underdog side.
