Two years ago Lietkabelis eliminated Zalgiris in the semifinal series, which created one of the biggest sensation in the league's history. This year, however, there is nothing Lietkabelis can throw to the card table out of their sleeves.
Lietkabelis simply can't expect to match Zalgiris. They have no single creative playmaker with Bickauskis sidelined with an injury, they have a huge disadavnatage rebounding and defending the paint, they can't keep the pace that Zalgiris will most certainly will impose on them, and their stamina 48 hours past Game1 in Kaunas, which Lietkabelis lost 72-93, is also in question. What can Lietkabelis do? They can try to fight for as long as they can but at some point during the game Zalgiris will make a spurt Lietkabelis will not be able to hold off. This is so obvious.
There is a lot of value in taking Zalgiris to cover the Asian handicap as the game favourite, even though they are playing in Panevezys.
