Nijmegen last round played on the road against another amateur side from Tweede Divisie. It took them the opening 23 minutes to take a 3-0 lead. By the end they had goals expected 1.70, while their opponents from Rijnsburgse Boys had no less than 3.70 goals expected, and lost 3-2 in the end. It really should have been a tricky fixture for Nijmegen who defended awful and had to face 21 shots, from which at least 10 shots on target with the amateurs from Boys missing big scoring chances besides the 2 goals they did score.
Interesting piece of statistic. Nijmegen with 9 league games this season on the road, and no less than 6 of those games with min 5 goals being scored, often they both score and concede 2+ goals in away games, and even last round in the cup the fixture was the same with 5 goals scored total, as they scored 3 times and conceded twice. AFC lost two games in a row in Tweede Divisie, 4-1 on the road last round and 2-0 at home while I back here over 4.5 goals being scored, Nijmegen being a top team in Netherlands this season, very attacking minded but soft at defending most of the time. GL! Also Dutch Cup.
