There is kind of a negative sentiment around Albania right now, mainly questionable squad choices and lack of creativity and fluid football. The fans, media are not really in full support of the national team, and questions are asked about the future of the team. Mainly whether Sylvinho is still the right man in charge.
Either way, Albania had a warm-up fixture with Gibraltar, which was won 0-1 in an overall weak display.
Tirana is always a tough place to visit, but if there is one chance to shake them up, is it now.
Latvia will have a bigger chance than they initially think. They played 1-1 with Albania at home, followed by a 0-1 defeat against Serbia. In fact, the last time Latvia lost by a big margin was away to England in March. Since then, they have played very narrow matches, meaning low scoring and actualy quite boring. This is exactly what Albania struggles with right now, to break down low teams and win convincingly
Through history, Albania and Latvia have played 5 times, and all 5 matches have ended in a draw. Football history suggests this will be tight. The current state / mood of Albanian football being negative, I do not buy the bookies odds of saying that Latvia are underdogs of 10.00 odds.
Conclusion: While I am tempted to try the underdog odds of Latvia, which are ridiculously high. I will settle for +1.5 AH to decent price.
