Q-School Event 3rd. round 2nd. Match will be played about 8:00 P.M.
It will be a match of two young players with a very short history of official matches.
19-year-old Clenshaw has career statistics for 2020-21: 18 matches 6:12 (33% wins), 31:37 (46% wins). Only 1 out of 7 decisive frames (14%) won, 3 z 7 effective whitewashes (43%). 4 breakes (once in 17), 100+ breakes - 1 (once in 68).
Mark Lloyd, 21, from 2019-2021, has career statistics 13 matches 5-8 (39% wins), 66 frames 29:37 (44% wins). Played 1 decisive frame, which he lost. Had 3 whitewashes, once successful (33%). He built 5 breaks 50+ (once in 13.2 frames).
In Q-School 2021, Clenshaw only played 2 matches 0-2, both against a tough and the same player: Michael Judge, a former professional who was promoted again to the Main Tour the day before yesterday. He lost 1:4 and 2: 4. He only constructed 1 high break - 105 points. Build 1 break in every 11 frames.
In Q-School 2021, Lloyd played 6 matches 4-2, 20 frames 18:11. He successfully performed 1whitewashes in two attempts. He did not play the deciding frame. He built 5 breaks 50+ (once in 5.8 frames), including a 100+ break - 1 (once in 29 frames). He lost 1 and won 1match against the talented Belgian Leclerq, won against 56-year-old John Welsh, a former weak professional, won against the average amateur Whelan. He lost 1: 4 in the Last 16 round against former pro Miah.
Summary: in my opinion, Lloyd has more potential. He was England's amateur champion in the U-21 and U-18 categories. In the second event, he made the final day of the competition. He didn't have weak rivals, only once played against strong player here. He clearly lost this match. Clenshaw did not have such junior successes. Here he played only 2 times. Both matches against one of the strongest players of the tournament who, however, was not rated as one of the biggest favorites. He lost both matches, one match was very close and the other one clearly lost. I see better Lloyd's skills in the offensive play. I cannot compare the quality of the defensive game of these players because there is no data. In my opinion, the game will be even, but the winner will be Lloyd, who has more quality. Of course the minimum stake still applies!
