European cup, 3rd round
The two clubs decided both matches to be played in Skopje. First is tonight, while the second is tomorrow (Saturday, 24 hours later). This is clear indicator about West Wien's ambitions. Even the coach Luca Gareis said for the club official website: "The European Cup is something very special for us. A very strong team awaits us there and I'm sure there will be a great atmosphere in the hall."
But Alkaloid is far from "strong team". They are new club established 3-4 years ago by the President of the Handball Federation Mukaetov, coached by Kire Lazarov, the best Macedonian player of all time. There are no foreigners in the team and Alkaloid is a base for the national team, coached again by Kire Lazarov. In term of fans, they could not be compared with Vardar or Pelister. The hall "Avtokomanda" is small one, but I don't expect to be full.
I think West Wien will cover the handicap. Even a narrow victory will be good for Alkaloid as they are hosts tomorrow again. It is quite different when the second match is away, then You are chasing high victory.
West Wien coach Gareis have no important missing players, while Lazarov will be without Damjan Mitev and Nikola Kosteski due to injury.
