This is match from the first round of ATP Estoril. Fils is
definitely the better player, the younger and more talented in my opinion. He
can be a real machine and hits winner after winner, especially form the forehand.
He is tough opponent. In the same time this year he is 9-8 and 1-3 on clay.
This will be the first match between them. Sousa does not like the clay. Still
he simply loves to play in Portugal in front of his countryman. He is a former
winner here. Sousa did not show for his match on 29.03.2024 and my guess is
that he prefers to preserve his strength for this event. The veteran is far
from his best, but I think for sure he can be competitive for at least a set
and if he gets enough support from the tribunes I think he can take the first
set.
