This weekend is the final round of EFL games and there are still many sides who need a win to achieve their objective. Unfortunately some of these sides will fail so it's a bit of a minefield really trying to pick to the correct team(s). I'm going with Blackpool as my best choice, and although they don't need to win, only a win will secure 3rd place which technically gives them a slight edge in the play-offs as they play the 6th place side in the semi-finals and also have the home tie in the 2nd leg. A play-off place is confirmed but failure to beat Bristol Rovers could see them drop to 5th, which would mean a 2nd leg away tie at either Sunderland or Lincoln.
The seasiders have been so impressive in the 2nd half of the season, hitting good unbeaten runs at home and away, but especially at home, until recent back-to-back losses against Rochdale and Shrewsbury ended both. However, they've hit back with some really good results beating Sunderland, Northampton and Doncaster to-nil.
Blackpool have goals in them which is an attractive proposition when you are backing a team to win. Jerry Yates has 20 this season, and he's struck up a good partnership with Everton youngster Ellis Simms.
Bristol Rovers can still be considered dangerous as they are bottom of the league and relegated, that combination often brings positive results! But results don't look to have picked up recently, even since February when they appointed Joey Barton as their new manager. If anything, they've gone backwards since with 12 losses and only 3 wins and 2 draws.
Blackpool should still want this, despite being guaranteed a play-off spot. Plus, going into the play-offs on the back of 4 straight wins should hold some value.
