The Jackets come from a huge win over the Wild. Marchenko scored a hat trick and overall, all the lines looked good in offense. The Wild had +50 shots on goal and Merzlikins was quite good between the pipes. I don't know what to expect after such a huge win (7-4). This is the home opener for the Jacket and such victory will boost them. Yet, we don't have enough data to support them in defense and I cannot see them neutralizing the Devils. This could be a good spot for goals.
The Devils won against the Lightning by 5-3. It was a well deserved performance as the Bolts had barely 17 shots on goal. They've managed to bounce back after their loss against the Canes that was a sort of choke. Defense has been leaky but again, we don't have enough data after 2 rounds. Both teams play fast hockey and I can see this being an offensive match-up. The Devils have speed on all lines and the Jackets like to play in transition.
I can see both teams scoring a few goals and the line is slim since it's the beginning of the season. I was thinking about taking the Devils on the moneyline but the Jackets might pull something on this home opener. I will side with goals as I trust both offenses.
