The new Premier League season will start with a London derby, as
Crystal Palace welcome Arsenal to Selhurst Park. The Gunners are big
favorites in this opening match and there is a good reason for that. It
is connect with the pre-season results - Arteta's men have destroyed Chelsea
with 4:0 in Orlando before a six-goal thumping of Sevilla in the
Emirates Cup. Gabriel Jesus, who came this summer from Manchester City,
is scoring easily and it is clear he found the form. Oleksandr Zinchenko
also reunited with Mikel Arteta in North London and the fans are
expecting Top-4 finish in the new season.
As I
wrote, Arsenal are big favorites in the opening match, but I think
Crystal Palace are able to remain unbeaten. There are two reasons. First
is the home advantage. The Eagles ended the last season unbeaten in six
games at Selhurst Park, winning three of those matches.
Furthermore,
they have kept a clean sheet in their last five home games. The second
reason is connect with the last mutual game. Crystal Palace beat the
Gunners 3:0 in this fixture just few months ago. It was the crucial
defeat for Arsenal who left without Champions League football this
season.
