Since firing Lalonde, the team has been playing inspiring hockey and power play is a true asset. The team is still competing for the play-offs and such match-ups are absolutely crucial for points. Offense has been under-performing this season but for the past couple of weeks, the Red Wings have been solid. They beat some decent teams like the Capitals and Jets. There is depth in all the lines and the new coach definitely revitalized players like Larkin and Debrincat. Talbot should be on goal tonight.
The Blackhawks remain one of the worst teams on the road (only 5 wins). Last round, they beat the Avalanche by 3-1 in what was an upset among many for the past week. It's a team that plays too inconsistent hockey and you never know if offense will show up. Their key asset has been penalty kill and it's one of the best in the whole league. Yet, let's not forget that the Red Wings have the 3rd best power play squad. They lost both pre-season games to the Red Wings and one in the regular season by 4-1. I think this will be a full sweep.
The Red Wings rank better in all metrics besides the penalty kill. Goaltending is very even but still, Talbot has better stats than Mrazek. The odds are short but I want to reduce the risk considering the bad run. I expect the Red Wings to seal the deal in 60 minutes but the moneyline remains decent.
