Fenerbahce are favorites to progress to the third qualifying round
having recorded a 4:3 victory in the first leg in Switzerland. I expect
another victory for Turkish Giant, this time even higher.
Fenerbahce
have not participated in the group stage of the Champions League since
the 2008-09 season. It is clear they will be very motivated. The fans
are dreaming trophies, particularly with Jose Mourinho as new coach. The
Special One received a warm welcome when officially signed and today he
has the first official game. Mourinho knows how important this match
is. Winning the first official match at full-packed Sukru Saracoglu is
priceless. Key players like Tadic, Dzeko, Kahveci and Fred are ready,
only Sojuncu is doubtful.
The quality is
on Fenerbahce side, no doubt about that. The coaching factor is also
with Fener, Mourinho is more successful than Mattia Croci-Torti.
However, the home advantage is the key reason for my pick.
