I'm going for the Over 5.5 for the third time in a row, and we've hit it easily each time. The Panthers have a 3-1 lead, and it's amusing to see the market react to the 8-1 loss. True analysts know that this isn't necessarily a turning point in the series, and closing out a series is always tough. Just look at the Celtics vs. the Mavericks; the Celtics were up 3-0, got trashed in Game 4, and then lifted the trophy in Game 5. I honestly expect the same outcome tonight.
The Oilers' 8-1 win was impressive, no doubt, but do they have what it takes to make a reverse sweep? I really doubt it. I've been saying it all series long—the problem is their lack of depth and the top line playing too many minutes. Skinner isn't an asset for the playoffs. Overall, the Oilers have looked lost in this matchup, and let's not forget they had lost five in a row to the Panthers before the last win. I think the last game was a classic Game 4 letdown, and things will normalize tonight.
So, I'm taking the Over. The odds for the Panthers are just a bit too short. Potential final games are always tricky and can be electric. Now that Bobrovsky allowed a lot of goals, let's see how the matchup evolves. We can also expect very early empty nets if it doesn't stay tight. I think the line is excellent for what could be the final game of the season. Let's go, Panthers!
