Gangwon- Machida    (lost)

Gangwon FC is currently navigating a period of significant technical issues. Their recent form has been underwhelming, characterized by lack of  finishing and defensive lapses. They are coming from a 3-1 domestic defeat against Ulsan HD just days ago. Furthermore, their continental campaign has stalled offensively, following consecutive 0-0 draws against Melbourne City and Shanghai Port. In my view, their tactical system is struggling to provide enough defensive coverage, having conceded three or more goals in two of their last five games, while managing only a single goal themselves during that period. Machida is one of the most solid and disciplined units in the competition. Their recent form is exemplary; they arrive in South Korea unbeaten in their last six matches. I believe their 2-1 victory over JEF United Chiba and their thrilling 3-2 win against Chengdu Rongcheng demonstrate a team that possesses both the power to defend and the firepower to overturn scores. With 11 goals scored in their last five matches, their formation appears remarkably balanced. Also later in 2025 Machida comfortably defeated Gangwon 3-1 in their previous meeting in November. I believe the Japanese side’s pressing and the attacking efficiency of players like Yuki Soma and Yengi will overwhelm a Gangwon side that looks with lack of confidence. So away win here.
