High stakes for this one. First of all Koepfer has been a mess after making that kind of breakthrough in Rome last year, honestly I was expecting it because he is a guy who can catch the week of grace sporadically and then return to anonymous levels or so for the rest of the season. Dominik has potentially a nice aggressive game, but still lacking consistency to be good for longer than a single week/tournament here and there. He has never played on South American clay so far and I certainly don't expect him to get anything good out of this tournament, just different conditions from the European one and Koepfer is basically entering Cordoba with no experience in this regard. Happy about this matchup as I like grinder Coria playing at home and being fully motivated to do well here. It's true that he hasn't had interesting results at Challenger level since he entered the top 100, but I have the feeling his ambitions have increased and that Federico wants to get more serious at ATP level, obviously he has better chances playing a tournament like this in best possible conditions. For me Coria is a clear favourite to win the opening round, great value.
