After a brutal and annoying September, let's try to bounce back in October with some European footy :)
When you look at LASK, it doesn't look that pretty in the standings. I think their current coaching solution is not optimal, with a director on the sideline. Yet, there has been some kind of positive effect at least results wise. The 1-1 draw away to Rapid is impressive, and their scoring record of 9 goals in the last 3 matches shows signs of coming alive just in time for this match.
Djurgården are in a tight battle in Allsvenskan to secure a European spot. With only 5 matches to go, Allsvenskan must be their priority. They might not actually play for their lives here in Europe, as this is more of a bonus competition. The money for participating is already secured. But to qualify for next season, they have to stay in top 3 in Sweden, which is very tight! The club needs to do better in Allsvenskan. The form is questionable, along with internal negative questions around coaches, future, poor squad etc is the tone of the fan base at the moment. They just lost crucial points in the 90th+ minute in the league.
Djurgården have also shown inconsistency playing away in Europe, with loss to Niedercorn, drawing to Ilves, but also beating Maribor narrowly. But recently in Allsvenskan, they have two abnormal results (4-0 loss to Malmö, and 3-0 loss to GAIS).
Conclusion: Both teams are actually not in super harmony yet, but this becomes a matter of priority. I don't see Djurgården capable of collecting 3 points here easily. "Don't kick someone who is lying down".. Well, LASK has an excellent chance to do just that in this fixture. Odds have already dropped but I find it playable down to 1.60
