Clermont are a side punching above their weight this season sitting in 8th place and currently on a four game unbeaten run in League and Cup so far in 2023. Their last loss was against Lille in the reverse fixture but they have actually been better on the road than at home this season and expect them to put up a stiffer test in this game. Clermont have not been dominated by anybody away from home this season not losing any game by more than a goal difference with Lorient, Marseille, and Lens the only sides to beat them. At Lorient they had 10 men for almost half the game and still managed to pull a goal back so can count on them to always keep battling. They've managed to beat solid sides like Reims and Lyon on their turf and also drawn at Nantes and Monaco so don't see why they can't keep this game tight at a Lille side that have only cruised past Auxerre, Troyes, and Pau at home this season.
