Giants outhit the Heroes today but outhitting is not always the same as outplaying an opponent. Slugging was really the difference, for example, the Heroes had a bases loaded situation and scored just 1 run whereas the Giants came alive all of a sudden offensively.
In any event, today the start for the Heroes could save their terrible 'pen.
Indeed, Eric Jokisch is starting for the Heroes and the lefty had an amazing start of the season. He is 2-0 with a 0.53 ERA, 0.71 WHIP (!). He has yet to allow a homer, an awesome 0.00 HR/9 indeed. Last season he allowed also just 9 homers in 181 ⅓ (!) innings pitched, so that could come in handy against this homerun hitting Giants team. Also, Jokisch with a solid 7.41 K/9 and how about his tremendous control (!): 1.06 BB/9 (!).
The Giants will start with Lee In-bok on the mound. The righty recorded a 0.00 ERA, 0.00 WHIP, so looking great, right? Not so fast, first of all a small sample size of two innings. Also, not a single K, so i am not hyped about him since he had an ERA over 10.00 in his three seasons prior to that. Also, for a reliever he has had bad strikeout stuff last season: 5.24 K/9 while he was all over the place with his control: 5.9 BB/9 (!).
I took personally also the Heroes over 5.5
I expect the Heroes to destroy the Giants and i will be shocked if they cannot get an easy win with their ACE on the mound.
