Malaysia are targeting a 7 goal win and maybe believe they can achieve this. They have at home quite frequently even been able to score 5+ goals against teams not much worse than Taiwan who seem to have completely lost their good phase 1-2 years ago. If Oman was to win by several goals against Kyrgyzstan then their target would become more realistic but I guess Malaysia will keep on trying with high motivation until half time at least (probably stop trying if it is still 0-0).
Also because of the time zones Malaysia just need to do their best, the deciding Oman-Kyrgyzstan match will be played later.
And also this line is not Malaysia goals but Malaysia and Taiwan goals combined. Taiwan scored 3 against Philippines and 2 against Thailand quite recently (2023 and 2022). They have become known of one of the most over teams in Asia even if have been subpar attackingwise this qualification, only 1 goal scored in 5 matches.
