The Russian might have extra motivation because he is out of Wibledon and although he is in excellent form, he has been beating winnable matches. He lost to Van Rijthoven in the Netherlands but other than that, he has straight sets wins. He was challenged a lot by the slicing of the Dutch player and Hurkacz might add this to his game plan.
Hurkacz has won against much stronger opponents like Kyrgios and Auger-Aliassime. His serve has been significantly better than the Russian with +90% of service games won. I love the in-game intel of this player and the adaptability in match-ups. He has the game to win or at least challenge the Russian. He has a 2-2 record against him and not many players can claim the same. He won their last encounter in Miami and Wimbledon match.
The Polish player has a more than reasonable chance for another win over Medvedev and a 5th title. May the better player win!
