As the season draws to a close, the Wild aim to bid farewell to their fans with a victorious home game. Despite possessing the quality required for the playoffs, this season has been marked by disappointments, particularly due to subpar performances in goaltending and defense. Additionally, they faced challenging stretches with injuries, contributing to the overall narrative of their season. Historically, they have dominated the Kraken with a record of 6-2, and this season, they've continued their winning streak with a 2-0 record. Given their previous successes, I anticipate they will seek to conclude the season on a high note.
On the other hand, the Kraken have charted their own course this season. Their offensive output has been awful, with minimal changes to their squad. The absence of Dunn, once again sidelined with injury, leaves the team adrift on the ice and without him they pretty much look like shit. Enduring a four-game losing streak, there seems to be little reason to anticipate a significant improvement in their final game of the season. They play lazy hockey and fail to generate enough scoring chances.
While neither team may be particularly motivated, I anticipate the Wild will draw inspiration from their home crowd and strive to deliver a performance worthy of their support. Additionally, their favorable history against the Kraken suggests they are well-positioned for success. Going for the spread is also an option and can provide good juice.
