Notts Forest coming off a big 2-1 win against their rivals Derby County and made it three wins out of three in 2022 so far. Barnsley meanwhile lost their third away game in a row at Birmingham and now 9 games without a win in the Championship. One concern is Joe Worrall being out for 6 weeks as he is arguably the best defender in the Championship and will be joining a Prem side eventually. However, they brought in Steve Cook from Bournemouth who is very good Champ level centreback and against a Barnsley side that has only scored 17 goals all season (only 1 more than Notts Forest have scored just at home) this shouldn't be too significant. Barnsley are really struggling in attack as Cauley Woodrow is injured and Ounare who they bought in as Dike replacement has been a big disappointment and they are trying too offload him in this transfer window. Barnsley may make it tough by parking the bus but ultimately I expect Forest to grind out a 1-0 or 2-0 win with key attacking players Lewis Grabban (25 apps, 12 goals, 4 assists), Zinckernagel (26 apps, 4 goals, 5 assists), & Brennan Johnson (27 goals, 6 goals, 5 assists). Forest won 3-1 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
