Ordabasy and Torpedo are normally two stingy teams in their game style, and for that reason it was surprising to see a goal-galore in Georgia, where Torpedo made an impressive come back late into the game. Now, the fixture moves to Kazakhstan
It was by all accounts a very close match in the first leg. Ordabasy will feel like they have a good chance, as at home they are 3-3-2 with 8-3 goal difference in the Kazakh league. This game is not decided on paper, because if it was, then Torpedo probably have a more sharp team by narrow margin. Ordabasy are more complete in the sense of game management and in these type of games, defensive effort is more valuable, because offensively they are still very much on par with Torpedo. So it becomes a game of "who to trust to shut the door when it matters?"
The georgians, Torpedo, are on paper a team that has invested significant money by Georgian standards on both coaching staff and players, but are incredibly inconsistent even in the Georgian league. They should be on top of the league, but are 5th(!) with 20 goals conceded, which is aligned with the relegation teams. That tells you about their underlying underperformance.
The first leg showed that Torpedo still leak goals, but they were effective, even though perhaps not deserving of getting away with a victory. Does lightning strike on the same place twice? I do not think so.
Conclusion: In Kazakhstan, I expect Ordabasy to be more disciplined defensively, and go back to their "roots" of playing stingy football, and punishing Torpedo to get the victory. Torpedo is not in a trustworthy mode, particularly not as an away team in a European fixture. I personally do not believe in this "project" because they are heavily punished by far worse teams in the Georgian league. I see Ordabasy winning here in a presumably stingy game. Fiar odds for me? 1.55-1.60, so at 1.85 it is playable
