France: Ligue 2 (Tomorrow - 7pm) vs Chateauroux
Odds in Asia (IBC/ISN) & 188bet
Chateauroux have problems right now. Not only do they sit down in 16th place after 10 rounds (just 10 points earned and only 2 places/3 points above the relegation zone), but they also just sacked their manager and are yet to find a permanant replacement before this game. Despite their poor form, it came as quite a surprise that Chateauroux sacked their manager so soon - for this next match they are now under control of the assistant manager as a proper replacement is yet to be hired. This assistant manager has no experience in such a big role and is just a caretaker manager - I don't expect any radical changes or increase in player motivation, as he has already been at the club for years.
Chateauroux have lost both their last games out now (we had a winning bet against them in the most recent one too). They just lost 0-3 at home and prior to that took a 5-1 loss away from home - so 2 big back to back defeats, conceding 8 goals whilst scoring just 1.
Chateauroux have struggled to find any consistency or identity this season - I doubt this will change until they find a proper permanent manager - Chateauroux are yet to find their best line up/formation and actually have changed their formation from a back 4, to a back 5 and then a back 3 in the last 3 matches now.
The only consistency about Chateauroux so far is the fact that the defending duo of Bourillon (defence - 10/2 - 1st top scorer) and Fofana (defence - 10/0/1) have started every game and played every minute so far (they are the only 2 players to play every game, at the heart of Chateauroux's defence).
Now for this next game BOTH of those key defenders are unavailable! This is a big blow for Chateauroux as they are the 2 most relied on/favoured players in the entire squad - both have been the first players on the team sheet and started every league game so far this season! This leaves big holes in Chateauroux's defence - Bourillon is also the team's top-scorer so far, as he's the only player to score more than 1 goal for Chateauroux this season.
Also, Chateauroux miss another 2 defenders who have played less this season: Soumarè (defence - 1/0), who received a red card on his first appearance of the season, and also Angoula (defence - 1/0), who is the team captain!
On top of all these defensive missings, Chateauroux also miss an important attacking player: Boukari (midfield - 9/1 - joint 2nd top scorer), who has plenty of Ligue 1 experience as well as playing for Wolves in the Championship.
All in all, Chateauroux have some squad problems today and their caretaker manager has troubles as he cannot rely on some key players here!
Given the team news, form and general atmosphere of Chateauroux right now, I see value on Paris.
Paris have been strong since joining Ligue 2 (promoted at the same time as Chateauroux). They finished narrowly above Chateauroux last season and are above them again this year (up in 8th place compared to 16th).
Paris are particularly strong at home too - they have made their stadium a fortress and are good value here at these odds up against a struggling and depleted opposition!
Paris have played 4 home matches so far this season and have 4/4 wins - they won their first 3/3 home matches with clean sheets and then in their most recent home match they came up against 1st placed (and best team in the league) Metz - despite Paris being underdogs AND getting a red card early in the game, they STILL managed to win 2-1! That game has the only 1 goal they have conceded at home so far this season too - that was a very impressive result and they enter this next home match with top confidence after managing to keep their 100% home record!
Chateauroux obviously have been out of form recently but they are even worse away from home - they are without a win on the road this season after 5 away matches.
For me Paris edge it regarding general ability/quality of these 2 teams but also they are considerably better right now when considering form, team news, club harmony/atmosphere and home/away records. Anything less than 3 points will definitely be disappointing for Paris tonight!
