Big game today in the Serbian capital. Partizan vs Virtus Bologna in the opening round of the second group stage. Two big names of the European basketball, both former Euroleague winners. This is definitely the biggest game of the season so far in Eurocup.

I see exactly these two sides finishing on the top 2 positions in this group and thus going to the knockout stage (QF). What more, exactly these two teams IMO are going to meet in the Eurocup finals.

I expect that mutual games now in the group are going to finish with home wins.

Today's odds on Partizan might not be some great value. I hoped to see here few plus points on the home side or at least pk odds, but ok, I'll take Partizan in this small favorite role.

We have here two great defenses, especially I refer on Partizan defense. That being said, also under the totals probably is not bad choice.

Virtus Bologna is great, no doubt about that. The best player on the floor is in their jersey, it's Miloš Todorić about whom I already talked when recently had pick on Virtus in game against Armani Milano. But this shouldn't be so easy game for Teodosić in front of Partizan's crowd. Teodosić who is known as a Red star fan should be under big pressure here cause fans definitely won't welcomed him very well. When we are mentioning the crowd, this season record not just in Eurocup but in European basketball in general is expected to be broken. From the home team yesterday have announced that only 3 thousand tickets remained. That will be sold today so around 20 thousand home fans are expected in this game. The capacity of Belgrade Arena is bigger but from safety reasons, the capacity is reduced for couple thousand.

I expect fans to be big factor here. Home court advantage should be crucial.

Partizan in entire season has lost only one home game (counting all competitions). That was the game vs Venezia that came in a bad spot for Serbian team.

At this moment Partizan is with full roster available. There are no absent players or someone who are playing under small injuries. So, it's a perfect situation for the Serbian team.

Coaching edge definitely on the side of Partizan. The Italian guy on the bench of Serbian team, Andrea Trinchieri is one of the best in Eurocup. On the other side we have the Serb on the bench of Italian team. It's Aleksandar Saša Đorđević, till recently head coach of Serbian national team and the legend of Partizan during his playing days. It's going to be tough for his current team. I mean, he is talented coach but IMO nowhere close to the level how great player he was. By the way, 'Sale Nacionale' as a player has faced Partizan in several occasions. I remember when some 20 years ago in Barcelona jersey he arrived to Belgrade and dropped 40 pts against Partizan. But now in this coach role and facing his former team, I don't think it's going to be successful.

I must give the edge today to home team the same as I probably would give the edge to Virtus Bologna when these two sides meet later in Italy.
