Pegula is in good form this season and has just a few losses. I will be transparent, it's not a player that I like. I find her game flat. A lot of times when I back her, she chokes. Her game can deteriorate during matches and mentally she is weak. Her tennis is baseline oriented and she has good court coverage. She has been serving well in Miami but this shot ain't an asset in her arsenal. Raducanu and Kalinskaya took a set to Pegula and I see this as another opportunity.
Eala is the media sensation. Most people haven't heard of her before the Miami Open. She beat Ostapenko, Keys and Swiatek. I've watched her last round against the Polish player. Eala has excellent counter-punching tennis and she outplayed one of the best in this aspect. To be fair, Swiatek was very weak. It was the first time that I've seen her making so many unforced errors. However, Eala pushed her to do so and the youngster can mentally challenge Pegula.
It's a classic spot where the market can be over-hyped over the youngster. I will not take a full gamble. I believe she can challenge Pegula from baseline and her return has been effective. At these odds, I think she has a fair shot to take a set.
