League Two
Port Vale had a great start to the season and after the first 10 or so games were in and around the play-off spots. I'm not sure what has gone wrong since, but something has. If we look back over the last 20 games (Port Vale have played 29 in total), they are in 23rd position with only Grimsby below them.
Vale have only 2 wins to their name in their last 14 matches in all competitions, and those wins were against Southend and Grimsby, who along with Barrow, are currently cut adrift as the bottom 3 in the league.
Stevenage have seen an opposite trend, they started the season in their usual fashion, really bad. But over the last 15 games you'll find them in 15th position, although in real time, you'll find them in 21st position but they are now tied with Port Vale on 33 points each. Their recent upturn in form should be enough to keep them in the league for another season after they luckily escaped relegation last due to Macclesfield essentially going bust.
They also had a recent away victory over 6th placed Tranmere which ended their 6-game winning streak. Stevenage also haven't lost a league game to anyone outside the top 10 since November when they lost to Bolton, but the Trotters are now a top 10 side.
The bookies must assume Port Vale are better than what their league position shows and that they'll probably move up the league table again before the end of the season. However, i fancy Stevenage to get something.
