I never know what to expect from Sakkari this season.
I keep waiting for some better result that doesn't come. For example, in three Grand Slams she lost the first round twice and the second once. And there is nothing to suggest that anything should change.
Rakhimova can play great matches, which she showed, for example, at Wimbledon against Paolini, the biggest problem for me is her own head, when she could easily win against Noskova, but she didn't use the opportunities she had.
The advantage over Sakkari is that she successfully qualified in Cincinnati when she eliminated Burrage and Marino.
The only mutual match was played 5 years ago on clay when Rakhimova was 18 years old, then Sakkari won 2:0 in sets, but she won the first set after a tie-break. And that's exactly what I'm betting on today, that Rakhimova will win the first set.
I don't know how the whole match would turn out if we got to the third set and how Rakhimova would handle it mentally. But her playfulness in Cincinnati and solid form is the reason why I think she will win the first set.
