Raonic M. - Sousa J.    (won)

Hilarous pricing for a "North American", since Raonic is no more such a top player plus Sousa looks to be in great shape. Sousa is a hardworking player with weapons and who possesses a pretty strong serve. He just beat Alexander Zverev after winning another 3-setter against Youzhny who was pretty much decent over the last months. Raonic on the other hand got a "bye" and then beat in straight sets 6-4 6-4 an unknown Canadian.

I watched Raonic a little bit on my TV and I am not impressed at all, the Portuguese should be able to snatch at least one set. The Canadian just lost to Steve Johnson or De Minaur in straight sets. He also lost at Australian Open 1-3 at Lacko. So why can't a Sousa in his best shape win a set? I know Raonic prefers the American hard but he's full of injuries and even managed to lose at the Canadian Open in the end of 2017 in his first round to Mannarino

A highly motivated Sousa will put him problems. I believe Sousa is improving and will rise up in his last part of the career. Milos Raonic is 2-0 h2h recently against Joao but on hard Sousa stole a set from him in 2015 at St Petersburg.

An `unknown Canadian` will be top five player in my opinion :) But is true that Milos wasn`t really tested in R2. Still conditions here are really good for him as his kick serve jumps like crazy.

Shapovalov is the real deal. It`s a big plus to have a nice junior career but Auger would have received a wildcard if he would have had some good senior results. Of course he`s still 170th in the world and that`s something but really mediocrity actually for the current shitty state of the ATP (about 5 times worse than the WTA now with all the female youngsters that showed up). Auger lost 0-6 4-6 to Ojeda Lara, and 3-6 4-6 to Fabbiano. I think Djokovic did much better at 17 years old and a half. Top 5? Maybe if the Canadians stop spoiling their players. You didn`t say Shapovalov, but this nobody as a senior. In my opinion he`s not promising at all, actually his results should worry the Canadian Federation and his staff. 0-6 2-6 against Lestienne in February.
Gosoeda 12-03-2018, 17:36
Well ATP rankings doesn`t tell much at his age. Shapovalov developed quickly and probably will have more success, but I think Felix is gonna be a big thing as well. But if you insist on ranking comparisons Zverev was 135 at 17 and everybody considers him as next nu. 1. At 18 at the end of the year was 83rd and I don`t think Felix will be far from it. Just give him time :) and I said top 5, not top 5 of all time, what we can say for Nole, so this comparison is out of line.
Finnishflash 12-03-2018, 17:53
Wtf FAA Will be sure better than shapovalov In future cause he has More talent.. I mean when this guy was some Wonder kid at Age of 14-15 there was talk even that he is most talented of all from these youngsters and some ppl said (of course too early) that he Will win 10 gs titles :)) I mean Im sure it wont take More than 3-4 years from now him to become top-10 if he continues progressing and maybe 5-6 years to win a slam. Thats my prediction. Some ppl dont seem to know shit from this player cause he is just "unknown" Canadien lol:)
Gosoeda 12-03-2018, 18:57
I am on the same boat here. He started this season badly, but after injury it is always hard to come back, specially with his age. Anyway we will see what future brings :)
FinnishFlash 12-03-2018, 19:29
Who and what are you talking @Go, and what boat? :)
jobless 12-03-2018, 22:06
@ Finnishflash I guess he talked about that young Canadian. Anyway, you don`t have to agree with me. For me junior results are a huge plus, you can`t really come from nowhere. But also some top juniors never develop. My attitude is good, forget the junior years if you are senior. Just think at the success you had maybe as a junior! It`s very dangerous to tell a youngster you will win Grand Slams if he still has to work (a lot). This Auger lacks recent results. I am not impressed with some results on Canadian soil. Or this was some sort of irony? :)
Remy 13-03-2018, 11:23
I hope this Auger Aliassime dude is not like Kyrgios. Waste of talent I mean.
jobless 13-03-2018, 12:57
Lol, Remy, Kyrgios is one of the best talents ever with such a serve..
Heisenbergabq 13-03-2018, 14:37
Sorry,Sousa has pretty strong serve?

I am interested in terms for Raonic`s return.

Sousa served for set, 5-4, and then managed to lose both serves in a row. Unbelievable! 7-5 2-1 currently... This is a feeling of a bad day! Two matches that should have been won already, plus a trap (I guess I need more experience).
jobless 14-03-2018, 00:15
Good, no? He leveled up. ;) Told you, guys! Strangely I am not a huge tennis bettor but I do bet major tennis tournaments. I think I am currently 100% (6-7).
