Altmaier managed to scrape himself a bit after that 5 setter on Wimbly vs Shapo that lead him into abyss of red squares (6 defeats in a row), even managed to lose vs Navone on hardcourt. He might be 'back' with these two wins, but they were far from convincing. Daniel has more than usual ups and downs in his game and his backhand seems to be even more exploitable. And after rather lucky first 2 matches where he by sheer luck managed not to lose a set, now faces domestic player who is on a roll.
Taverna had very good b2b campaigns in Todi and Porto (F and SF), lost both times to experienced Taberner, but with 2 wins here is overall 9/2 (10/2 if we count Bundesliga) in August and early September. Taverna's stats look pretty solid so far (lost serve once) and his game could push a bit more pressure on Daniel's weaker side. Santiago managed to trouble Daniel in the past and giving the current level of play from the German, I would not be surprised if the Spaniard takes the whole pie.
