Nice spot to opose Yulia who had an incredible week in Bejing and from qualies reached QF only to lose to Coco yesterday. HOWEVER she played 7 matches in the span of 9 days and besides Coco, the toughest nut to crack was....Laura Siegemund herself. Perfect spot for payback, just hope not another Sramkova/Zidansek scenario shitfest will happen again :) Laura recently played the best HC tournament in Tunisia (sadly lost in Finals) however, looking at the draw here, pretty decent chances to go into MD. Now, I have really doubts about Starodubtseva's motivation here, as she was playing QF of WTA 1000ournament yesterday and tomorrow she is forced to play qualies. I think it is extremly difficult to beat the same player twice in a span of just a couple of days, especialy with the last match eventhough in 2 sets, brought twists and turns. Laura's unortodox game clealry bothered Yulia and with possible fatigue accumulation as well as motivation question, Laura deserves a shot. In case of losing, Yulia just might be awarded WC for the MD because of her performance last week. Just a thought.
