Sirius have recorded 13 wins and two draws from their opening 15 league matches, remaining unbeaten with 41 points and leading the Allsvenskan with a goal difference of 42-17. They have recently defeated Brommapojkarna, Elfsborg, IFK Göteborg and Halmstad in succession, scoring 15 goals across their last five rounds. In the previous match, Sirius deservedly won 2-0 away to Halmstad after generating 2.59 expected goals and recording eight shots on target. Across their last 10 league matches, Sirius have averaged 15.3 shots, seven shots on target and 2.8 goals per game, giving them a clear attacking advantage over Brommapojkarna.

However, the most important change ahead of this match concerns leading striker Robbie Ure. Sirius have officially confirmed that Ure has been given permission to travel to Sevilla to complete a transfer, meaning that he will not be included in the matchday squad. Ure has started all 15 league matches this season, contributing 15 goals and two assists. He has directly scored 35.7% of Sirius’s 42 league goals and has been involved in 40.5% of their total when assists are included.

More importantly, Ure’s 15 goals have come from only 9.29 expected goals, meaning that he has outperformed his xG by 5.71. This demonstrates that his finishing has been far above the league average. Standing 1.89 metres tall, Ure does far more than attack crosses inside the penalty area. He can protect the ball with his back to goal, press opposing centre-backs and run into the space behind the defensive line. His presence at centre-forward in Sirius’s 4-2-3-1 system is also an important reason why Isak Bjerkebo can move inside from the left and find shooting opportunities. Without Ure, Brommapojkarna can concentrate more heavily on protecting the area in front of their penalty box without having to constantly defend against his runs beyond the back line.

Sirius still possess other attacking threats. Bjerkebo has contributed 11 goals and five assists, centre-back Mohamed Soumah has scored four times, Marcus Lindberg has two goals and three assists, while Oscar Krusnell and Victor Svensson have each registered three assists. Sirius will not suddenly lose all their attacking ability because of one absence, and these players are still capable of helping them win. However, they may not be able to replace the central reference point and exceptional finishing efficiency that Ure provides.

New signing Otso Liimatta recorded three goals and three assists in 13 appearances for Värnamo before scoring twice in nine matches for Halmstad during the first half of the year. He can operate in several attacking positions, but he has only just arrived and has not yet developed an understanding with his new teammates. He is also closer to an attacking midfielder or second striker than a direct replacement for Ure.

Sirius could also be without Noel Milleskog, Jesper Uneken, Matthias Nartey and Neo Jönsson, who has contributed two goals and two assists. Charlie Nildén is doubtful as well. With several attacking players potentially unavailable, Sirius could find themselves lacking an experienced centre-forward on the bench if they struggle to score for an extended period.

Brommapojkarna currently have only 17 points and remain near the bottom of the table. They are winless in six league matches, collecting only three points during that period. They have scored just five goals across their last five games and have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven consecutive rounds. Across the previous 10 league matches, Brommapojkarna have averaged only 10.1 shots and 3.4 shots on target, while allowing their opponents to produce 17.7 shots and 5.7 shots on target. These numbers make it difficult to support them to avoid defeat outright.

However, a +1.5 Asian Handicap does not require Brommapojkarna to collect any points. Even a one-goal defeat would be enough to cover the line.
