Svrcina has nothing really notable this season. He is still young and try to find his game. He is a short player (below 1.80) and serving has always been a liability. He lack speed on that shot and sometimes he makes it easy for good returners. I don't think he is the next Czech sensation but it's a good player for the Challenger tour.
Martin Klizan... Waow! I have to admit, that I was surprised to see his name today. I thought that he retired for good in 2021. I was even more surprised to see that he has been playing since January 2024 without stop. He is 25-5 this season but hang on, he has been competing on the ITF tour and snatching a few titles. This being said, he faced some reliable opponents and I've watched some of his highlights, he does look sharp. Klizan has been a true talent back in the days. He made an early retirement in 2021 because of injuries but mainly a lack of inspiration in the sport. He failed to be elected as mayor and representative in the Slovakian tennis association. Thus, he decided to restart training in 2023 and now he is back on tour. From what I've seen in his matches, Klizan has not lost his spark. He has an excellent serve with good kick and can chase lines from all over the court.
As you can see, my tip is really based on Klizan. It's really good to see him back and clay has been his favorite surface. Home crowd should be all over him and I think he can take over a "nothing special" Svrcina.
