Team USA finished second in the Group, behind Switzerland. They finished by beating a perfect Czech team, but it was a game where they looked little better than they sould - beacuse they were given plenty of powerplay opportunities due to the lack of disciplin by the Czechs. On the contrary, USA have also been inconsistent, playing a draw against Norway for example. It is a young, youthful, and quick team. They are excellent when given sloppy opportunities, but I am less impressed when they carry the favorite-stamp, like right here.
I think many of these playoff-character games will be tight affairs and go to overtime.
Finland will have an edge in the goalkeeping situation, as Saros only have a 1.19 GAA, and saves 95.92% (!)
Finland have not let themselves be blown-out by any team so far, despite some underwhelming results in the beginning, they have always remained competitive until the final seconds. They even found a way to stop Canada, through a big collective defensive effort, and some stellar goalkeeping.
Conclusion: Truth to be told, Finland have grown steadily into the tournament and look more difficult to play against now. Perfect time for them to grab the underdog position and strike back. Finlands main ingredient is to deliver as underdog. I like their chances of bringing this match to overtime, so X2 will be my selection. At more than 2.00, that is good enough to me. These quairters rarely offer a clear winner, so expect a tight tactical match.
