They met just some days ago in the league also here at U. Cluj. The score was 2-1 by HT for Petrolul who ended up winning 3-2 in the end as they even had the lead 3-1. This competition is important for U. Cluj having a coach that won this competition more than once and last season with him they not only finished 2nd in the league but played the cup final as well.
Petrolul has no right to play in Europe and last round before the group stage they used an experimental line-up with mostly youngsters that were good enough to take a 2-0 lead from the first half but by the end of normal time Resita made it 2-2 as Petrolul did not use Zima as keeper but a youngster in goal and overall had a really weak defense.
The league is really far more important for Petrolul, and U. Cluj is very good at scoring goals here at home as I not only suggest over 2.5 goals here but also over 3.5 goals as Cluj does have their own problems defensive wise. GL!
