Play of the day for several reasons.
Since legendary coach Ron Jans took the job as head coach of Utrecht, they have improved their game significantly. They were almost dead-last, but rank 12th now with just 3 points removed from the play-off positions. They are playing way more compact, structured, and with high pressure. Utrecht was the only team who could have won against PSV this season as they played with high pressure against them while PSV had no real answer.
Fortuna coming from a very tough game in the cup. Fortuna had to play till 23.00 local time in the cup against Groningen. They played extra time and got kicked out after taking penalty kicks. So a heartbreaking loss that downed their morale + significantly less time to prepare for this game.
Fortuna had to travel 4+ hours in the bus back home, so Friday they were destroyed basically as well. 4 hours is like a joke in the US, but this is almost the biggest distance possible in the Netherlands.
Utrecht will miss first goalie Barkas due to an injury, Brandenhorst will replace him.
Quality difference + much less time to prepare for the guests, make me take this as a 3-stake big play.
