Vancouver have given up the season officially, announcing that all of their players are up for trade. This was quite clear when the GM decided to ship Quinn Hughes to Minnesota, starting a rebuild phase. Now they are trying to get rid of Elias Pettersson and others, to clear salary and build something new. It will take years until Vancouver are back competitively again. Of course this is NHL, so they will have their wins from time to time.
The mood is down, the results are down, and last time they lost 0-6 to Edmonton. I believe they have a dressing room without motivation and players who mentally speak to their agents about new moves. A toxic environment right now
A playoff hungry New York Islanders are coming to visit now, trying to take advantage of the misery in Vancouver, who are a shocking 1-12 in their last matches.
They're coming with Sorokin as starting goalie, the best they can do. Harmony is better, they have a rookie who is blowing up the league in Schaefer. Not much to complain about apart from the somewhat inconsistent away pattern (tend to win and lose every other time).
I just think Vancouver are smoked right now, and the obvious play is the NY Islanders ML
