I believe in Vardar. They lost in Portugal, but managed somehow to beat Melsungen in Skopje and rejoin the race for the second place. Yes, Melsungen were without their key men, but still they're Melsungen. Vardar are stronger than they were in the autumn because Lazarevski returned and Vorkapic joined the club from Vojvodina. Vorkapic scored 9 goals against Melsungen and another 10 in the derby match against Alkaloid which Vardar won and kept the distance safe in the Macedonian league.
Benfica are very good, but not as good as Sporting. They won the first match against Vardar 40:35. They also won in Sweden and got much closer to the goal. However, Melsungen are not sure that they will win the group and Kristianstad are not eliminated yet, they're still alive. Vardar will win the group with 2 wins, so everything depends on them. However, the basic goal for both teams is to pass the group.
Vardar are in very good form. They were bad on the right wing and the pivot positions in the autumn and not so good on the goalkeeper position. With Lazarevski and Vorkapic, they fixed the weaker points and now they're very strong. It's important to mention that the left wing Tuzolana also missed some important matches last autumn, but now everybody is ready, the only injured player remains Portuguese goalkeeper Espina, who is yet to play this season. I expect Vardar to win and I'm very surprised with the odds, I expected to be around 1.60-1.70.
