Alkari will play away to Romania against Voluntari in the first round of the ENBL league on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Croatian time. It will be the first European match in the history of the club founded in 1955.
Voluntari won this competition last season, is the vice-champion of Romania in 2022 and a three-time winner of the national cup. It plays in a hall with a capacity of 1,100 spectators, and was founded in 2005.
The Romanian team has already played one match in the European Basketball League North, winning away to the Norwegian Fyllingen Lyons with a score of 64:104.
Coach Damir Milačić announced Ferata's first European away game:
"We are very happy to have had the opportunity to play in this quality competition. The first round did not spoil us, we are going to visit the champion. The team has a high budget, one of their players is paid more than our entire team. Of course, that does not diminish our desire and willingness to give our opponent a hard time, and then every option is open."
The team from Sinj is traveling by flight Split-Warsaw-Bucharest, and then they arrive back because on Friday they are visiting Split at Gripe. Let us remind you that in the first three rounds of the SuperSport Premier League they have registered all three victories:
