The Caps lost twice in a row and have a little a bit of a "down" moment. Don't get me wrong, they ride a very strong season and deserve their play-offs spot. They beat the Panthers in November by 4-1 but it came during an awful period for the Stanley Cup winners. The bookies set the Caps as home underdogs and I believe they are right. The H2H remains 9-1 in favor of the Panthers and that's because it has always been a bad match-up and the Cats have more quality in the lines.
The Panthers are in momentum and just beat the Islanders by 6-3. I like to back the Cats when they are trending and offense is rolling. It's also a good team to back on revenge spots and things are way different from November. In their previous encounter, the Panthers looked flat and uninterested. Tonight, I believe they can trade road wins and it's typical spot where the Cats confirm their dominant H2H. I hope they are disciplined as penalty minutes remain an issue.
I expect a physical match and historically it has been a mid-ice control battle. The Cats have been better for the past week and they will be eager to take their revenge win. The goalies match-up should be Thompson vs Bobrovsky.
