Wings vs Storm    (won)

The Dallas Wings will host the Seattle Storm in WNBA regular-season action tomorrow morning. This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season and also marks the start of the WNBA Cup. Based on current form, Dallas clearly enters this matchup in a much better rhythm. The Wings have won four of their last five games and now sit at 5-3, placing them near the top of the standings. In their last outing, they defeated the defending champion Las Vegas Aces 95-87 at home, which was a very impressive result.

In that game, Shepard delivered a career-level performance with 22 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists, recording her second triple-double of the season. She also set a new career high in rebounds and tied her personal best in points. Team leader Paige is averaging 19.4 points per game this season and also scored 20 points in the previous matchup. Chinese player Li Yueru has appeared in seven games so far, averaging 2.7 points and 3.1 rebounds, mainly serving as a rotation option inside.

Seattle, on the other hand, is struggling badly. The Storm are currently 3-6 and have lost two straight games. In their last match, they were crushed 93-72 on the road by the Tempo, completely falling apart in the second half and suffering their third consecutive away defeat. Even worse, Malonga and Magbegor have both been ruled out, while Quayle is also unavailable. Clark is likely to play, but her condition remains uncertain. Hiedeman had 18 points and 7 assists last game, but she cannot carry the offense alone.

From a statistical perspective, Dallas holds a clear offensive edge. The Wings are averaging 88.9 points per game, more than 10 points higher than Seattle. They also average 23.4 assists compared with the Storm’s 17.4. In terms of efficiency, Dallas shoots 46.6% from the field and 37.2% from three-point range, both clearly better than Seattle’s 41.3% and 33.3%. Although the Storm still average 7.6 steals and 5.4 blocks per game, their defensive impact should decline significantly without their two key interior players.

Overall, Dallas has home-court advantage, better form, stronger offensive efficiency and a healthier lineup. Seattle’s injury problems, especially in the frontcourt, make it difficult for them to contain the Wings’ inside pressure and outside shooting. I expect Dallas to control the tempo and build a comfortable lead.
