WTA Osaka
Krueger showed all her potential this week as she is about to play her first WTA final at 19yo and will break into the top 100 from Monday. She has been by far the best player of the tournament playing with good controlled aggression to win in straight sets every match, all easy as the maximum she allowed was 6 games to Hontama in SF. It's hot and humid in Osaka as having spent little time on court is going to be an additional advantage for her. As I said earlier this week, Zhu is overrated as she doesn't deserve to be a top-50 IMO, there is really nothing that stands out about her game as I'm sure she will return to the fringes of the top 100 very soon. If Uchijima hadn't been injured in R2, Zhu would probably have lost that match as unfortunately I was in that thing. She also got lucky in SF as Xinyu Wang was worn-out from her previous marathon and still forced Zhu to play a very close 2-setter. I like Krueger to win the title, but all the better if I can go safer as nerves might be felt for a teenager playing her first WTA final, although it shouldn't happen.
