Well, I have to ignore the h2h here, because it's total nonsense for many reasons, as Emil controlled most of the matches which I saw between these two.
Last time these two met on slow clay in Rome like a week ago, Emil was 6-3, 3-1 up in that match, when Giron changed his gameplan and started "moonballing" and Emil had no answers to that as he is a player who dont have like plan B, and dont like mixing it up, and he was clueless that time. Im sure Emil and his coaching has done "homeworks" for this match and are better prepared, BUT that match was ALL in EMil's hands. Now last week Emil took strong win over SeaBot in Turin which I watched and it looked really good. Emil has had so many problems now during early season - back problems and some kind of "viruses" that kept him out of some tournaments, and had to withdrew and even retire. Now he and his coaches have stated that it's all in behind and Emil is now fully fired up and eager for upcoming RG, and wants wins under his belt.
Now the thing is that this Geneve is played in altitude, and the fast conditions surely suit to Ruusuvuori as he is a power hitter from the baseline, so his shots have more effiency and power! Also his serve will be more effective.
I think that Emil will win this one, and eventually meet Novak in the final :)))))))))))))))))))))))))
