The heat is on. The last eight of the Champions League is here and we now know who will be facing who in the final stages of Europe’s premier footballing competition.
Before the draw Man City were listed as favourites with bookies across the board at 9/4 (3.25), closely followed by Barcelona at 3/1 (4.0) and Juventus at 4/1 (5.0).

Out of all three remaining English clubs in the competition unsurprisingly last year’s finalists Liverpool had the lowest odds at around 7/1 (6.0) to win the competition. After seeing off German giants Bayern Munich they were given a considerable boost compared to where the odds were at in beginning of the season.
This year’s Champions League draw was groundbreaking in its change of format. A simultaneous draw was made to directly pair the teams for the quarter finals and then the path to determine which winners will meet in the semi final.
The fixtures are as follows:
Tottenham vs. Manchester City
Ajax vs. Juventus
Manchester United vs. Barcelona
Liverpool vs. Porto
Either Spurs or City will face either Ajax or Juventus in the first semi final, while Manchester United or Barcelona will face Liverpool or Porto.
Amazingly the draw hasn’t affected the odds for the favourites one bit. Manchester City are still favourites to take their first Champions League title, followed by Barcelona, Juventus and Liverpool.
The biggest difference is a drop in the odds for Juventus and Liverpool who both face the rank outsiders in the competition Ajax and Porto respectively.
Perhaps the best value outside bet at the moment is Manchester United. After seeing off PSG to make it to the quarters they were at around 14/1 to go all the way for the first time since 2008. Now they’ve been drawn against Barcelona who beat them in two finals under the Ferguson era.
Now they’re facing the one of the favourites in Messi and co. the odds have almost doubled. Not bad for a cheeky punt. The best odds for a bet on Manchester are with Betfair. To read a full and comprehensive Betfair bookmaker review click here
