I had some doubts over this match mainly because the Jazz were active last night, so this is going to be back-to-back match for them, but it's normal in the NBA league and shouldn't be big problem. Utah had some problems recently with the rotation because coach Snyder moved Ingles on his natural forward position and introduced healthy Conley into the starting line-up. This means O'Neale on the bench and the best possible starting line-up. Newcomer Clarkson is the main force from the bench and O'Neale is the only player from the bench with significant number of minutes. Utah had 3 defeats in row with O'Neale as starter, but lost another 2 matches with Conley. They finally started winning in the third match with this rotation and the last win against Houston was sweet as honey - the Jazz won with Bogdanovic's last second 3-pointer. They may be tired against Dallas, but the atmosphere in the team seems to be great.
Dallas remains one of the biggest positive surprises this season, but they slowly lose breath. Powell's injury was the first hit, now they are without their magician Luka Doncic, who needs several days to recover fully. Porzingis also had problems, but he will play tonight. Seth Curry is in great form, he averaged 19 ppg in the last 4 matches with amazing 57% from 3pt range. Can he continue that way? I don't think so. Newcomer Willie Cauley-Stein was perfect against Charlotte in the last match, but it's going to be impossible against Gobert. Tim Hardaway and Finney-Smith along with Kristaps are the key players in Dallas while Doncic is out, but I feel that they're only good physically and lack something extraordinary for matches against strong opponents like Utah.
The match is important for both teams for a better starting position in the playoffs. Utah are strong at home, but have many defeats away from Salt Lake City. Dallas is something opposite - dominant away from home, but struggle at American Airlines Center. I believe that Utah is better team than Dallas even with Doncic in the squad. Now they're healthy and may attack the second place in the Conference. They're able to do it, they have one of the best starting line-ups in the league, big experience with Conley and average bench with Clarkson. Dallas are physically strong and that's going t be their main advantage tonight. Many things will depend on Curry's hits from distance, but Utah should use Ingles to guard him. I cannot be convinced in this bet, but I'd give Utah clear advantage, big enough to post this preview in the Premium section.
