Dont really agree with the market here, when Pouille's odds have been dropping bit in asians after opening..
I mean I like two of the canadiens tomorrow, and this is one of them. There is of course no question about the motivation level with these canadiens here in this big home tournament. FAA is of course only 17y old (turning 18 in couple of days) BUT he has already lot of expirience playing with the "big" boys. He has played now couple season in Tour level, mostly in Challengers with some titles in his belt but to me is of course amazing guy already. I see him troubling a lot maybe if we can say " out form" Pouille here. He has so strong baseline game, with heavy strokes and of course also very good serve. He is always been known one of the most talented players from this "Next Gen" and maybe after Zverev the best. He has had now some rest after European clay swing, and Im sure he is well prepared and trained for this tournament. I dont think he is too inexpirienced to win this match up, cause he has been on Tour for a while and played some tough matches.
Well I also like that Pouille seems to be really out of form. I mean he has been that almost hole summer, in Wimby losing to someone like Novak who is maybe top-150 level guy. And now here on US hard court swing he lost to Kudla in Washington pretty easily and for me current Kudla is not top-50 guy although he has improved a lot this summer. So I think that current game of Lucas is no where near that top-20 level it used to be, and there I see a BIG chance for the young home player.
Last year here in Canadien Masters Pouille lost as same kinda favourite to Donaldson in straight sets in 1st round! I think this could well be a pretty close affair, as looking both players abilities but Im gonna go with the young talent here!
