LDU managed to bounce back after the 0-2 loss at Olmedo beating Emelec by 1-0 at home (goal came from free kick), despite the important missings in defense. What is sure they anything else than win in Ibarra will be quite disappointing as LDu are urged to win the 2nd stage, not tempted to try this option because Liga are far from convincing away from Quito (3-4-3, not counting the games with local rivals Deportivo Quito and El Nacional which are played on the co-used stadium Atahualpa) but certainly expecting not many goals tonight.
LDU have the best defense in Serie A with 15 goals conceded in 24 games and Imbabura being in very poor form (scored just in one of their last 5 games) the hosts will have major problems to find the net. On the other side LDU are not known for scoring too many goals especially in away games, 8 goals in 10 games outside Quito. Good news for LDU is the return of Jorge Guagua and Diego Calderón in defense after serving their suspensions, Ezequiel González (mf) recovered from injury but likely to start on the bench. Liga still have some missings - Araujo (df), Urrutia (mf, suspended, not a key player) and the new-old hectic scorer Claudio Bieler delaying his 2nd debut for LDU because paperwork issues.
Imbabura are seriously threatened by relegation along with ESPOLI and Independiente JT at the bottom of the aggregate table and will dig to take something from this game but it will be a hard one. Their team is pretty much the same as in the 1st stage, no significant missings.
Both teams make mostly unders, both mutual games in 2011 ended under 2.5 goals (1-1 in Ibarra where LDU scored the equalizer in the 83rd minute, 0-2 in Quito, both goals scored after the 70th munute) so in my view the goal line should be 2.25 at some similar odds.
