Current champions Nacional are still chasing their first win in Apertura after 3 draws in the first 3 rounds. The slow start gets embarrassing for one of the big two of Uruguayan football and their new-born manager Marcelo Gallardo. It is true Nacional lost a lot in the break being left by key figures as Sebastian Coates (sold to Liverpool for 8 mil. euros), the topscorer of last season Santiago Garcia (to Atletico PR), Mauricio Pereyra (to Lanus), Alejandro Lembo (to Belgrano), Robert Flores (to Litex), plus the fact that managerial skills of Gallardo are not clear but Nacional still have a good selection for the local standards, brought the well-known veterans Alvaro Recoba and Diego Placente, latest addition is Joaquin Boghossian on loan from Salzburg, former topscorer of Newell's Old Boys who made his debut in the last round at Cerro. It is matter of time to improve their scores and facing a humble team as Racing is a good moment.
Racing are average team that also was left by some basic players - Barrientos moved to Vitoria Guimaraes, Sebastian Diaz to Gimnasia Jujuy, Liber Quinones to Gimnasia La Plata. Nothing impressive as new signings. Barrientos and Quinones were topscorers of the team last season, Racing seem weakened in attack as they brought only Martin Crossa (34 years old) coming from the Guatemalan league but his performance is not good so far. The start in Apertura isn't good, draws against Liverpool and newcomers Sportivo Cerrito and 1-3 loss from Rampla Juniors in the last round.
No squad problems for Nacional, Racing will be without Diego Zabala who suffered a heavy injury in the previous round.
Having in mind that Nacional are hard to trust at the moment but they are bigger and better than Racing, usually not having problems against this opponent, desperate for points so pulling the trigger.
